There are certain cities scattered across this great blue marble we call home which exist in a category of their own. Their number is small, and it is unlikely that other cities struggling to achieve this elite status will ever be successful. As the old entertainment saying goes, you either got it or you don’t. I certainly do not wish to discourage the Chambers of Commerce in Duluth, Scranton or Albuquerque from making every effort to join the upper ranks of global metropolises. I'm just saying their chances are mighty slim.

Obviously, when thinking of the most glamorous cities in the world, some names spring to mind very easily. Just a few examples would be New York, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, San Francisco, Miami, London, Florence, Sidney and some more that I don't care to name at this time. You may have noticed I did not mention Las Vegas in that list. Because, in the mind of Floyd Manning, it does not belong with those great cities. No, Vegas is way better than all of them combined, and it exists in its very own category for which there can never be any serious contenders.Whether you have been to Las Vegas hundreds of times or are planning your very first excursion, your mind may be racing with questions regarding how to make the most of the experience. After all, even a city that never sleeps, time can really fly when you’re in Vegas having a blast. Therefore, many visitors feel a bit of pressure about how they can make maximize their experience in L.V. before the clock is up. I would like to offer a few suggestions which you should put on your itinerary. Some of these will be rather obvious, others may seem a little more off the beaten path. But all of them are guaranteed to provide you with a comprehensive immersion into my favorite city in the whole wide world.1. See a show. In particular, I would recommend you check out the new Cirque de Soleil Beatles extravaganza that is generating such orgasmic reviews. Trust me, it's one of the best live performances and I have ever seen. Tickets are hard to come by, but give it a shot.2. Lounge by the pool. The Hard Rock has one the hippest pools I’ve never partied at, more like a full-blown lagoon. Other solid options are the Flamingo and the Palms.3. Have a great meal. Vegas is bursting with exquisite restaurants, and arguably has more per capita than any other city I can think of. Blow some cash on an outstanding dinner and you will never regret it.4. Stroll the strip. In the evenings, even during the hot summer months, it is an excellent thing just to walk outside observing the mammoth hotel/casinos from end to end. You will be overwhelmed with the grandeur, perhaps even moved to verse as I have been on a few occasions.5. Gamble. I don't think this one requires a whole lot of additional explanation.
