How could anyone not love Germany? This peaceful nation has radiated quiet loving energy from one generation to the next. The landscape is breathtaking, the culture warm and diverse, the clothing always interesting and the beer beyond compare. I vividly recall my first trip to Munich at the tender age of 14. I couldn't believe the majesty of the colossal beer steins I saw served at the world-famous Hoffbrau Haus. Even more incredible was that it was women - some of them marginally attractive - who performed a job that would have crippled your average longshoreman, carrying steel trays with six or more of those massive steins at a clip, weaving their way through a crowded maze of wooden tables covered with red and white checkered tablecloths. Man, did I get bombed, and my love affair with alcohol was born in a torrent of vomit peppered with furious curses from my mortified parents.Well, I've been back to Germany more than a few times since that fateful summer trip and it's still the same wonderful land I remember so well. But you may not fully appreciate what a great global center for gambling this country is. Germany is not a name that tops many worldwide lists of places to lose your money in a casino. Let me tell you that is a gross oversight, one I intend to correct with this article. There is no shortage of superlative gambling houses scattered all across the nation, but for the sake of brevity I will limit my tally to five favorites. Just know that I could easily rattle off two or maybe even three more without having to think all that hard.1. Spielbank Bad Bentheim is a casino in Bad Bentheim, Niedersachsen. Despite the name which sounds like a particularly unpleasant virus, this is a solid place to do some gambling. The 7,532 square foot casino features 103 slots and 14 table games. 2. Casino Berlin is located in what famous German city? If you guessed Frankfurt you are a complete idiot. The casino features 110 slots and 10 table games. The property has a pair of restaurants and a hotel with 1,006 rooms. Very nice place to stay, with some of the best coffee I've found in all of Berlin. 3. Casino Ludwigspark is in Saarbrücken, Saarland. This is a joint that really knows how to dish out the slot action. The casino features sixty-five slots, which should keep you in a frenzy of one-armed activity for hours at a time. If not, you can always cool off at the bar.4. Casino Schenefeld is in Schenefeld, Schleswig-Holstein. Definitely a hot spot with degenerate gamblers from all over the region, you've got to check this place out. The 12,912 square foot casino features 92 slots and 10 table games. There's also a nice restaurant where you can really pack away the wursts and strudel like nobody's business. 5. Spielbank Leipzig im Hotel Inter-Continental is a casino in Leipzig, Sachsen. You ain't done Leipzig till you break the bank at this big daddy. I'm talking about some crazy loose slots, 50 of 'em. Get wild here and never look back, liebchen.
